Wearing Nothing...

 I spend all my spare cash on things for my girls, i desperately need to get myself some new clothes. Its getting embarrassing now. The trouble is my boobs, find something that fits them and its baggy all over elsewhere, or the opposite then my boobs bulge out! Grr...

Also everything has to be accessible in some way to feed Séraphine.

Well i have a good excuse as i am soon to be a god-mumma, definitely need a new outfit for that surely?

And a new bra, that actually fits these massive udders!

(my nipples don't look like this though! hahaha)

50 shades of grey (when i say reading i mean stealing the odd glimpse when i get two seconds)

Lets face it, who hasn't been reading it? So far I'm up to the beginning of chapter 3.

Its written very well, compelling you to read on. But with this handful that's nearly impossible! 

There's talk of it being turned into a film, who would you cast? For me Ana (Anastasia) would have to be Anne Hathaway, however I'm unsure she could get away with playing a 21yr old student?

I'm un-decided who would be Mr Grey (Christian to you or i), but he'd need to be totally sexy, charming and look awesome in a grey suit. Yummy.

After this book there are two more volumes, thinking i need to purchase...

Making...

So far I've made a pair of booties and a rabbit from an old damaged fleece sleep suit, a sock panda, a cushion for a friends birthday present and two sock animals for a fantastic charity that my friend runs.

Silently screaming...

Séraphine is ill for the first time, bad cold that's making her phlegmy with a nasty cough :( On top of teething and not sleeping. Lydia has been potty trained, she went from nappies to 99% dry in 3wks (including nights) Otherwise she's been getting the night terrors and being a typical terrible 2yr old!! 

All of this concludes to me having only between 2-6hrs sleep each night, last night it was almost 3hrs...whoop! Yuck :( These kids are lucky they're cute.

 

And lastly i will be trying to get on here more.

Review: Bravado

Clare over at Babyworld offered to send me a brand new product to review. A maternity/nursing bra, a Bravado body silk seamless. Available in two new colours, teal blue or poppy red.

It arrived safely in a neat box and wrapped in some lovely tissue paper :) The box is excellent for storing the padded inserts or even some breast pads in. A very clear size guide and product information on the reverse, and included spare nursing clips/loops in the shape of a 'B'. I thought that was excellent, as if one breaks you'd normally have to go and buy a whole new bra. Not with these ones!





I find it to be the comfiest maternity/nursing bra ever! Or so i think :) And i was the first person in the UK to get one! I went for the teal blue 1401, size Large. Being a size 38DD/40D i was in between minds whether to go for the Medium or Large, i choose large to accommodate my growing shape whilst pregnant. Also i ballooned from 34D to 36G whilst breastfeeding my other daughter so i am pre-empting!

I love the fact that the foam cups are easily removable, great to use for a cold day or to hide breast pads. Or wear it without in the summer or under slinky outfits. And the cups shape your boob nicely for a lovely figure.




The fabric is so soft and feels lovely against your skin, ultimate comfort. The straps are a good width, not to thin that they dig in and not to wide to ruin the look of strapy outfits.
With four rows of hook & eye fastenings you can be sure to get a good fit, loosening for comfort or tightening for support.



The fit is perfect as its cut low enough for low cut tops, but not being to risky. The cup leading into the side of the bands are shaped and cut just right as to not dig into your skin or rub you under the armpits. The thick waist band keeps the bra in place through the whole day offering support and comfort without any adjusting!
I can see myself living in this bra throughout my pregnancy, new baby's nursing life and beyond!

For around £30 the bra is on the expensive side for just one, maybe a pack of two would fit the bill better. Or even staying around the £20 mark would be great. I'd definitely purchase more at a lower R.R.P, in the mean time i will be keeping an eye out for any deals and offers they may be included in.

Otherwise if you want style, comfort and ease of use from your bra then you need this bra!

Guest Review: Mothers en Vouge ~ Bonita flutter sleeve top

Mothers en Vouge sent me a beautiful top to review. Unfortunately i just looked ill in it with my super pale skin tone, I'd have loved it another colour. However my sister-in-law Margaret is also pregnant, at 24wks, (4wks ahead of me) she has a lovely bump and was a bit unsure on how to show it of in style. A perfect candidate for the review of this top.

Here's what she thought of it....

Bonita flutter sleeve top in golden amber

At 24 weeks its a good top if you want to show off your bump. Both the fabric and back ties help to support and flatter the bust, overall giving the top a nice fit. The fabric is 92% Rayon and 8% Spandex, making it a very soft and comfortable fit with room for a growing bump.

I love the fact that its also suitable for breastfeeding, which i intend to do when my baby boy arrives. The top will offer me great coverage allowing access to only the necessary area without me having to flash to much flesh, which is a concern of mine being a first time mum. 

I think its suitable for both day and evening wear, you could add a simple pair of jeans or a smart black pair of trousers/skirt for a more dressy feel. 

The colour certainly suits the darker skin tone and I'd like to know what other colours are available.

At  around £29 this top is a little bit more expensive than similar items I've seen that are available, but i do think that this was the most comfortable and stylish. So you get what you pay for really. Based in Singapore you can only get their products online here....Mothers en Vogue

I miss you....

I Miss my boobie baby, i have even had a dream in which she comes back to me. She's so grown up and independent now that its hard to imagine that just over 2months ago she was with me all the time, having boobie and hugging me.

Sometimes she pulls a face when she is sleeping that reminds me of how she used to look whilst feeding,so sweet and 'baby-like'. Now she's all toddler and girly looking, with alot of mischievous looks about her.

I know i'm going to have a new baby to feed and love, i just miss my Lydia baby. I need to realise that she's growing up and needs me less than before, i can acctually have a little time off and give her to a friend or relative for a few hours.

She has recently started to give cuddles and kisse's which is really lovely. She is always happy and smiley, unless she's throwing a wobbly!

I am planning on trying to do lots more with her, toddler clubs, swimming again and finding out new games for us to play. Some 'us' time whilst we are still a family of three.

Flat hunting is still going on, what a STRESS that is, i never knew it was so hard? Everything i find has been taken already! I've been trying not to take my stress of that, hormones, sickness, tiredness and cheeky toddler-ness out on Justin and Lydia but its difficult sometimes.



Well i'm off to play with my cheeky little madam, and to try and relax. She can still be my 'baby', she's just not 'a baby' anymore :)

Its time to put my boobs away....for now!

Lydia has decided that she's all grown up, her need for Independence has outgrown her love of the boob! At 14mths and 14days old exactly, she decided enough was enough and that she didn't want anymore boobie!

That was 3.3wks ago now.
Am i in pain? have my breasts exploded with the over-load of milk?............

......No is your answer. Why, how? Well let me tell you my secret, I'm pregnant!!! :)

I know that this maybe a large contributing factor to Lydia's weaning, however i am sure the baby is 'using' up the milk. Hence no pain, mastitis, swelling etc.... Not exactly using it as Lydia were, but using the energy and all the goodness that's used to produce it :) Still that's not stopped them from shrinking already! :( From a 36G i am now a 38DD, still a nice handful but not a G!!! Anyways i am sure they will return with the birth of the new baby.

At 13mths old Lydia out-right refused the breast, this would've been when i was around 2wks pregnant and my hormones began to change, her way of telling me. The taste of my milk was changing, the baby was changing it :) After nearly 5days she came back, after i gave her some expressed milk in a sippy-cup, it made her want more boobie!

So now I'm going to be a mum of two! Eeeek!!!!!! Scary but amazing all the same.
I am now 12.5wks pregnant, and already having to wear my maternity clothes. Here is baby....

I'm sure it'll be tough having a newborn and a 21mth old toddler, but we wanted an age gap of around 2yrs. After a few months into being a mum of two i think Lydia will be old enough to do a few hours at a play-school, just as baby begins to be active :)

It feels like such a relief to finally post this! We've known about the pregnancy from 6wks gone and I've had this blog ready since i was 10wks, so eager to post it but desperate to have my scan first. Also it was becoming rather difficult to hide the bump in this gorgeous weather we are having :) Bump at 12.2wks....

Its going to be a BIG baby, lol :) xxx

Review: Mother's en'Vouge ~ Goddess drape nursing /maternity dress

Mischa over at Mother's en'Vouge sent me their beautiful Goddess drape dress to review. I received it in black, but its also available in Mauve and Teal as shown in the pictures below.

Size's are XS, S, M, L or XL. I chose the XL as i have massive boobs! I am usually around a size 14-16, and i found this dress was a great fit for me. Leaving room for other tops to go underneath. The A -line silhouette with loosely draped overlay fits many body shapes. 

It's made of 95% Modal and 5% Spandex/Elasthanne, made in Singapore where the company is based.

The dramatic draped overlay with fluid gathers cascading from the shoulders and neckline, and sweeping down to one side of the hemline opens out to be the breastfeeding access panel, and you pull the flap over top part of the dress down over your breast to feed. Its a very spacious panel which can double up as a nursing cover or thin blanket for your baby. However if feeding from the right breast (and not wearing another top underneath) you would be very exposed as the panel would be fully opened out showing both breasts.
I like teaming it up with a polo neck top for warmth, or a vest that go's unseen if the weather is warmer.

This soft, flowing dress gives adequate room for a growing baby bump without being clingy or restrictive. Currently without a baby bump i found the dress to be quite baggy and sack like in shape. I made a quick fix of this by adding a few accessories. Wearing some cropped leggings, a red nurse's style belt just under my boobs, matching red bracelets and necklace turned this into a Hot Mama's outfit! I wore it out for an evening and received many a complement :) You could do so many different things with this dress, its gorgeous go for it!

Hello cheeky toddler!

Now you can walk, talk and give me attitude. Am i confusing toddlerdom with being a teenager? No, my little terror is one to watch...i dread the teenage years! Screaming at me for no reason, really loudly and high-pitched. Its really not nice, its quite upsetting :(

Lydia has certain face that she pulls when shes being cheeky, a face that melts your heart, making you want to cry also :( I've not managed to capture it on camera as yet.
She throws mega tantrums over the silliest little things. I can hear the teenager in her shouting 'I hate you' already!

Your cheeky antic's involve many things, here's a list!

• putting things in the loo (shampoo,hairbrush,toys,wrapping paper,keys etc...)
• unravelling whole loo-rolls
• pulling things out of the bin and bringing them to me
• turning the house upside down, following behind me tidying up and un-tidying it!
• standing on tubes of things, like toothpaste!?!
• throwing wooden bricks at me :(
• chewing food and spitting it out
• stealing anything and everything i am eating/drinking
• filling the washing machine up with toys/paint and generally stuff you shouldn't
• emptying her water bottle all over herself/the floor etc....

I really could go on, but the list would be endless! I was hoping it was a phase, but I've been warned it continues and turns into the terrible two's :'(

She loves going to the park, she brings us her shoes/coat if we say 'lets go to the park'. Her favorite being the slide which she find hilarious? Then the swings where she trys to grab me each time she comes forwards :)

We are still breastfeeding, nearly 14mths now. She has a morning and night-time feed :)
She did something hilarious the other night. I was feeding her for bedtime and she pulled off and looked up at me smiling, she touched my boob where a dribble of milk was and said 'Boobie' then put the same finger on my lips and said 'Yummy'. Hahaha!!! Justin nearly threw up :)

She's been talking loads and responds to the things we say/ask her. Her favorite trick is saying 'Bum-bum' when she needs a nappy change, then she pulls out her changing mat and runs away!

Right i'm off to attempt cleaning up this disasterous looking house before she wakes to wreak it all over again! :) Have a faby mother's day :) xxx

"Why would anyone want to breastfeed a toddler? That's disgusting!"

And yes..that was a comment I got from someone. Unfortunately, many people share that opinion. In the United States, only 11% of babies are breastfed to 12 months. After that, the number drops even more. BUT, there are children who are breastfed. Scientists and anthropologists anticipate that the natural weaning age of humans is 2.5-7 years of age. In most cultures, children continue to enjoy the nursing relationship well past infancy.

So why on earth would someone want to breastfeed a toddler? I'll tell you......


10 Reasons Why You Should breastfeed Your Toddler

1) Convenience. Okay, call it laziness. It's easier to keep breastfeeding than to wean. Plus, nothing can put a toddler to sleep faster than a few minute on the breast. Temper tantrum? Breastfeed! And, toddlers will naturally get some lumps, bumps and scrapes. Instead of struggling to quiet the tears, just pop your toddler on the breast for a few seconds and BAM, problem solved.

2) Less of a need for a lovey. Loveys are wonderful, but they can be lost. Imagine being on a long drive and realizing you left the favorite comfort toy at home, hours away. The very thought can put the fear of God into the hearts of parents everywhere. BUT, considering it's virtually impossible to misplace a breast..... Anyway, having your child attached to you instead of an inanimate object is a HUGE perk.

3) Nutrition. No matter how old your child is, your breast milk will still be perfectly tailored to your child. Plus, toddlers are renowned for being picky. One day, they can't shovel the food in their mouths fast enough. The next day you are practically begging them to eat each bite. No problem. When they are breastfeeding, you can rest easy that they are still getting all the nutrients they need to be healthy (a real bonus when they go a whole week eating nothing but goldfish crackers and chicken nuggets).

4) Immune protection. During the second year of life, the number of antibodies in your milk goes UP. This is understandable, considering they are more mobile as toddlers; getting into everything. So, while your toddler is playing with a snotty-nosed kid, or busy cramming handfuls of sand in his mouth, or sucking on the germy shopping cart handle, you can rest easy knowing that your child will probably not get sick. BUT, if he does, he won't be as sick or sick as long as he would if he had been weaned.

5) Higher IQ. Studies are showing more and more that the longer your breastfeed, the smarter your child is. By breastfeeding into toddlerhood, you can raise your child's IQ by as much as 10 points. This is especially important for children with special needs who are "on the fence", so to speak. For these children, it can mean the difference between functioning and not functioning.

6) Better speech development. The act of breastfeeding is designed to work the muscles of the mouth and jaw that are needed for speech. It is believed that children who are breastfed have better articulation than those that aren't.

7) Preventing dehydration during illness. You know how kids are when they're sick. Forget feeding them...and even getting them to drink is a struggle. BUT, you can always get a toddler to nurse. This can mean the difference between taking them to the hospital for an IV and keeping them home and comfortable.

8) Greater independence. Our society pushes children to be independent WAY before they are ready. Breastfeeding meets your child's dependency needs. Studies prove that children who are breastfed are more independent, confident, secure and, more importantly, more securely attached to their parents. Letting your child breastfeed until he/she is ready to stop helps to foster independence.

9) Breastfeeding burns 500 calories/day without exercising or dieting. Since humans are designed to breastfeed several years, your body stores up several years worth of fat during pregnancy. Breastfeeding is the easiest way to lose the weight.

10) Breastfeeding lowers the mother's chances of getting breast cancer by, on average, 25%. The longer you breastfeed, the lower your chances are of getting breast cancer. Added bonus, breastfeeding a daughter reduces HER chances of getting breast cancer later in life as well.


It's not weird, wrong, perverted, or insane. Breastfeeding into toddlerhood is natural, healthy and extremely handy. Hopefully you will consider nursing a baby into toddlerhood, or at least giving a friend or relative encouragement when they choose to.

Review: EnVie nursing bras 36G, under-wired vs non-wired

Since the journey began of breastfeeding Lydia, I've found it very difficult to find nursing bras in my size (36G) that were a comfortable yet supportive fit. Within my search i discovered EnVie Lingerie.

The lovely Jane over at EnVie Lingerie was keen to help me. She sent out two bras for me to try. One under-wired and one non-wired.

The first bra, Anita Nursing Bra with underwire 5035 

Considering i had not worn a wired bra for nearly a year, i found this one to be rather comfortable. It was a great fit, very supportive but not restrictive, and the microfibre fabric was soft & silky against my skin.
With secret support whilst un-clipped, your breast stays shapely and supported whilst breastfeeding.

The bra has a pretty jacquard pattern, and the cups were a generous yet supportive and comfortable fit.

I find the wire in some wired bras to high up or sewn in to tightly, not with this bra. The naturally forming wires in this bra were in the correct place and didn't dig in uncomfortably.

The thick, soft and comfortable band fastens with hook & eyes, three wide and three deep.

With extra wide shoulder straps and a little cushioning on the underside of them, i felt very comfortable and safe. The straps stayed where they're supposed to and didn't leave nasty red marks like other larger sized bras tend to do.

Fabric Material: 80% Polyamide 20% Elastane. Available in black or white.

Bands from 34-44, cups B-H.

Some people are against wearing wired bras when nursing for fear of damaging their milk supply or getting blocked ducts, however if you have one that is a true fit then no problems should occur. (i wouldn't wear one in the early stages though, more for comfort reasons really) You could save this as a going out bra, or a work bra. For times when you feel you need a bit more support.

Priced at £39.99 (rrp £41.99) this bra is more expensive than others, but its the comfiest, prettest, yet practical under-wired nursing bra that i have found.

The second bra, Anita Nursing Large Cup Bra nonwired 5051

When i first saw this bra my thoughts were, 'oh-no, its a granny bra!' As it was not the most attractive thing to look at, but when i put it on i changed my mind. It was really comfortable, fit well and didn't look so bad at all. This bra was designed to help you and do its job as a nursing bra, not to be sexy in. It has light flower embroidery across the bust, pretty,cute yet sensible. Fabric Material: 45% Polyester 20% Polyamide 20% Cotton 10% Viscose. Only available in white.
Bands from 32-44, cups C-I.

With four sets of hook&eye fastenings, each row has three fastenings to give a comfortable and supportive hold. The extra thick shoulder straps give a great secure and supportive feeling that your boobs are in the right place, without the usual fear of them being loose and un-supported.

The sides are just high enough to give you a little more support, yet not to high as to rub your skin/armpits and make you sore.
I found the bra very easy to nurse in, with its large clip fastenings to allow quick (one-handed) access to your breasts. With extra built in hidden support, it almost looks like a sports bra within.

Over all i found this to be an excellent everyday bra!
If i was to change one thing, it would be to lower the front a centimetre or two. As with most nursing tops, and regular t-shirts, you could see the bra popping out over the top. Alternatively a little decor could be added if it is to be seen? A little bow perhaps?

With a price tag of £39.99 (rrp £45.99) this bra is not one of the cheapest options, but its definitely one of the comfiest. A good investment to see you through maternity and nursing.

Jane had told me that these bras are two of the most popular amongst their collection. For comfort reasons i can see why, however if your looking for prettier/sexy bras i would choose from their other styles/collections.

Both of these bras washed very well (wash at 40) with no misshaping or damage to the fastenings, quality products that were made to last.
Also both bras have little ribbon hoops/loops just below the clip fastenings, i am still trying to work out why or what they're for?

Sorry its been a-while since i last did a personal blog post. I've been rather manic and stressed out what with your birthday and all!

I can't believe its been 1 year and 1 week since i became a Mumma!

We had a little party for you and your friends. Pub lunch! (yes,it was for me really! hehe)

The time has just rushed by in the blink of an eye. I look back at photo's and it makes me sad to see how big and independent you've become, but happy that I've made you into a fit/happy and healthy boddler! (not a baby, but not quite yet a toddler!)

Today is the 6yr anniversary of me & daddy (Justin).

                                     I was (un-knowingly after 9mths of ttc) 4wks pregnant here :)

Jac-Jac & Grandad (mum&dad) are going to look after you tonight so me & daddy can go out for a nice romantic meal :) Our first proper 'date-night' in well over 2yrs!!!

I am really excited about it :) Hopefully we can have a nice stroll around the pavilion gardens, where we first kissed :) But its SUPER freezing out there tonight, lots of hugs and kisses on order me thinks!
Give you your last milk of the day then i can drink some pink cava to celebrate!

Now your growing up i am getting rather broody! Seeing teeny baby's in coffee shops and hearing tiny crys...I feel you need a brother or sister, a 2yr age gap would be nice :) Not to close but not to far apart either, and NO i am NOT pregnant at the moment!

We are still going strong with breastfeeding, a few weeks back i thought i may have to give-in...but we battled through the pains and we are back on track. Your teething got in the way, i had/have very sore painful and cracked nipples, and you were biting! You cut your first top four teeth all within 2days of each other!!! I had/have a cut that was bleeding, and my eczema was flaring up like crazy!?!

Since using some homeopathic remedies it has eased both of our pains and feelings of anxiety. I hope to continue our breastfeeding journey with less discomfort from now onwards :)

Anyways, i must go and make myself gorgeous to go out....erm....how do i do that again????

Review: YummyMummy Materity wear, Mama-licious Feed Me Long Sleeve Nursing Top (Green Floral)

The lovely Zoe from Yummy Mummy Maternity in Hove, sent me one of their long sleeve nursing tops (in green floral) to review. They do nursing and maternity wear.

I first saw this top on their website and thought how lovely it looked, then it arrived and i was not let down. Its GORGEOUS! Normally i don't wear anything floral or green, but this was so different and lovely.

It arrived wrapped up nice and neatly, displaying the product well and keeping it clean & safe. I particually loved the tag thats says '' FEED ME'', very cute and funny :)

The only off-putting thing was that is says 'XL' on the packaging.
Yummy Mummy's 'XL' is sized for 14/16, the UK's average womans size, so its not really a huge size at all? Lol :)

I found this size fit me perfectly, roomy enough around my 'mum-tum' and snug enough around my boobs for a great fit and chance for a bit of cheeky cleavage!
I am usually around a 14 for tops, but with these huge 36G milkers this top was an amazing fit! I felt very comfortable, trendy and like a yummy mummy in it :) If in doubt over sizing and ordering online, go for the next size up to ensure enough space for nursing sized boobs!

This top has pull-down flaps for nursing access, which allows just enough 'boob' to be out to feed comfortably and descretly (if baby does'nt pull it down like mine, see picture below! lol ). It pulls back up and into shape after feeding without leaving the top saggy or misshapen in that area. Just what every yummy mummy aims for :)

I loved the softness of the fabric and the versatile sleeve's. I like to push my long sleeve tops upto my elbows when busy, trying to feed my daughter lunch for example (picture below). The sleeve's have beautiful detailing around the wrists that tailor it slightly, however leave enough room to gather up comfortably.
The length of the body was also fantastic. I have found that some nursing tops are to short and gather up at the back when sitting/nursing. This has a bit of extra length that covers any sign of 'muffin-top' or 'builders-bum!' (talking about myself here!) Its just great!

As you can tell, i loved reviewing this top and i'm going to wear it to death!

Hello folks :) Lydia and i would like to say ''Happy new year!'' to you all, and thankyou for reading :)

How are we all getting on with the resolutions? Anyone broken theirs yet?
Mine are going OK,i must admit that the re-cycling could improve! So far I've only remembered to hold back one bottle and one cardboard box! Two things are preventing my success, one is the flat is teeny and secondly i honestly keep forgetting! Bad habits (throwing it straight in the bin) are hard to shift.
I think i should add another resolution to my 7, to not use EBay as much!!! Its ridiculous now, constantly bidding (I'm sure that's a form of gabbling somehow?) Lydia so well dressed but i have nothing and I'm skint!

The tidying up more is going well, i am very pleased with my efforts! Before it was a nightmare as i had to entertain Lydia when she was awake and when she napped i could eat/rest. Now we making cleaning fun, her favorite game is throwing all the socks around whilst i try to pair them :)

Lydia is helping me have more fun and forget about the little (unnecessary) things in life.....

Today Lydia has learnt how to climb up the furniture! Eek,now we're in trouble! Bookshelf, CD racks and TV stand - your all in trouble now!

She's had bad nappie rash and nothing has been helping. I tried several branded creams/lotions etc... I the end i asked the ladies over at The Leaky Boob for help. They suggested to use some good old...breastmilk!!!

So for a day now i have hand pumped about 2ml and dabbed it onto her affected areas at bum change time. And its working!!! So amazed by it, i thought the wetness of it wouldn't help but i was so wrong. All the redness/soreness and lumps have settled down and its nearly all gone :) so pleased with myself. Justin was also amazed when i told him how it'd improved so drastically that quick.

Breastfeeding is still going well, she seems to have had an increase in feeds again which i don't mind. We are still happy :)

Lydia's hair is growing, shes finally got hair all over her head (no bald spots,like daddy!hahahaha) Its golden blond with a small patch of brown at the back :) Just like how mine was as a baby.
